Tuesday's Primary Election Results for U.S, House of Representitives

The primary election results are in for the new 24th Congressional District and Republican Candidate Claudia Tenney has declared herself the winner. With 90 % of districts in, Tenney held 54% of that vote with 17,277. Mario Fratto holds 40% and George Phillips held 6%. In her victory speech, Tenney promised oversite in the House of Representatives, and she is excited that the gavel could possibly be taken away from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The Oneida County republican will face Democrat Steven Holden, in November’s general election. Tenney’s new district includes Cayuga, Wayne and parts of Oswego and Onondaga Counties. In the 22nd district, which includes Oneida Co, Brandon Williams beat Steven Wells in the republican primary race for the U.S. House of representatives. He will go on to face Democrat Francis Canole. Canole won a tight race against Sarah Hood and two other candidates for the democratic nomination. In the huge 21st Congressional District which includes Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties, parts of Jefferson County, and points east along the Canadian border Lake Chamlain, Former C.I.A. agent, Matt Castelli was declared the winner in the democratic primary. He will face incumbent Republican Elise Stefanik in the fall.
