Two smoke shops in Boonville busted during executed search warrant over alleged illegal operations

BOONVILLE- Two village smoke shops have been busted for alleged illegal operations after authorities executed search warrants last week.

In partnership with the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office and various other agencies, the Boonville Police Department executed a pair of search warrants at NC and Z1 Smoke Shops.

Both establishments are located within the village along State Route 12.

As a result of the search warrants, Boonville Police said both shops possessed in combination 160 cartons of untaxed cigarettes; 1,137 flavored nicotine vapes; 100 assorted Kratom items and assorted cannabis products.

At press time, authorities said an investigation was ongoing.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office, the Oneida County Health Department, the NYS Dept of Taxation & Finance and the NYS Office of Cannabis Management all assisted.
