
ROME- The investigation into a deceased male body that was found behind the Mirabito Gas Station is now being investigated as a homicide.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, city police officers were dispatched to the 200 block of East Dominick Street for a report of an unresponsive subject.
Upon their arrival, officers located an unresponsive male, in a small wooded area in close proximity to Railroad Street. It was determined that the male had sustained a puncture wound to the chest and was pronounced deceased on scene.
The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old, Michael J. Brown of Rome.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide by the Rome Police Detective Division.
