Senator Mark Walczyk

MOHAWK- With the newly drawn district maps, New York has a new Senator, who is now representing constituents of the 49th District.

Mark Walczyk (R-C-I) was sworn-in Sunday at the Historic Fort Herkimer Church in Mohawk, NY. “I take the oath of office seriously,” the Senator said.

Walczyk begins his new chapter in the Senate after changing scenery from the Assembly. He originally represented folks in the 116th Assembly District and eases his way into the Senate’s 49th District Seat in the wake of Patty Ritchie’s retirement, who held the spot since 2011.

The district includes all of Jefferson, Lewis, Hamilton and Fulton Counties. Furthermore, the seat also has constituents in parts of Herkimer, Oswego and St. Lawrence Counties.
