WEBB- A woman from Maddison County is faced with theft and trespass charges in the Western Adirondacks after she turned herself in, authorities say.
Britney B. Wilsey, 30, of Chittenango, NY was charged by the Town of Webb Police Sunday morning with counts of petit larceny and criminal trespass in the second-degree.
Chief of Police Ron Johnston says Wilsey turned herself over in the wake of a criminal trespass complaint on October 15. It’s alleged that she entered and remained unlawfully inside of a rental cottage in the town of Webb, despite the renter exclusively warning that she was not allowed to do so.
While investigating, police received a tip that Wilsey had possibly stolen a bottle of liquor from an Old Forge, NY business earlier that same afternoon.
A follow up confirmed that allegation, police said.
She was processed and released with appearance tickets, all of which are returnable to Webb Town Court at a later date.
