Port Leyden - Alberta Nancy Ouellette, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday
November, 12, 2024 at her home.

Affectionately known as Nancy, she was born on April 11, 1946, in Lewiston, ME, the daughter
of the late William and Ethel (Barnes) Silver.

She moved from Lewiston, to Charlestown, MA, as a child and attended Boston School District
where she graduated from Boston Trade School for Girls. Nancy worked for Taunton State
Hospital, in Taunton, MA for 30 years before retiring and moving to Inlet, NY and finally settling
in Port Leyden, NY.

Nancy enjoyed RVing with her husband Brian, going to NASCAR races, knitting, quilting, and
researching genealogy. Nancy spent many years enjoying snowmobiling with her nieces and
nephew; Robert, Amy and Laurie, whom she thought of as her own children. Nancy was the
proud Chaplin for the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed her time as a member
of the Port Leyden Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. For several years, she served as Historian
for the Town of Lyonsdale.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Brian Ouellette. Nancy was the loving aunt
to Amy (Paul) Shudt, Robert (Stephen) Ouellette, Laurie (Devan) Bence, Wendy (Richard)
Dries, Hope Bence, Timothy Chaplin, Michael Chaplin, Karen Der, Marc Der, Jason (Jennifer)
Nelson, Ryan (Angela) Nelson, and great nephew Jonathan (Kylie) Dries, as well as many other
great nieces and nephews. Nancy was known as auntie to all who met her and always had a
story to tell you.

She is further survived by her sister Jo Kenney, sister in laws Raynor (Jim) Chaplin and Robin
(Rick) Nelson.

Her Funeral will be Monday, November 18, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc.
143 Schuyler St., where Pastor Jack Ford, from the Boonville Methodist Church, will officiate.
Interment will be in Port Leyden Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, from 4-7 P.M. at the
funeral home, where members of Port Leyden Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will meet in a
group at 4:30 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to J.S. Koster Hose Company Ladies
