BOONVILLE- Ann M. Glouse, age 71, affectionately known as ‘Granny’, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in the presence of her family in the comfort care room at Lewis County General Hospital from a long-term illness. She fought her disease the same way she lived life, fiercely.

Ann was born at Lewis County General Hospital, a daughter of Stanley and Shirley (Kiser) Hutchins, on July 16, 1955. She was a lifelong resident of the north country and spent the last 38 years of her life on the Glouse farm on Route 294 outside of Boonville. Ann, with her husband Harold “Dub”, lived and loved the farm life. She loved her animals.

On August 10, 1974, Ann married the love of her life, Dub, at the Boonville Baptist Church. She was a beautiful soul that always put the needs of others before her own, as can be confirmed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Ann is survived by her husband of 52 years; one daughter, Shana (Kevin) Hosmer; one son, William (Sarah) Glouse; and seven grandchildren who she cherished deeply. She is also survived by five siblings, Stan (Julie) Hutchins, Sandy Bender, Steve Hutchins, Doug (Lorrie) Hutchins, Laura McCaw, Amy (Richard) De Vaul; several nieces and nephews; and her special caregiver Beth Beyel.

She was predeceased by her father, Stanley; mother, Shirley; four siblings, Barry, Donald “Tim”, Karen, and David; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Marjorie Glouse; one brother-in-law, Alfred Bender; and one nephew, Michael Lucas.

In keeping with Ann’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewis County Hospital Foundation, 7785 North State Street, Lowville, NY 13367, or to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367.

A special thank you goes out to all the wonderful people in the comfort care unit and to Beth Beyel for the exceptional and compassionate care they provided to our “Granny”.
