Beverly J. Poore

Lyonsdale – Beverly J. Poore, 79, wife of Raymond L. Poore, Sr., longtime resident of Murphy Road, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Wynn Hospital, Utica.

Beverly was born on September 16, 1945, a daughter of Garry and Pearl Scouten Boardman.  She completed her education at Port Leyden Central School.  On August 17, 1963, Beverly was united in marriage with Raymond L. Poore at the Boonville United Methodist Church.  For several years Beverly was employed as a seamstress at Lally Manufacturing Port Leyden, until the mill closed.  In later years Beverly also served as a councilwoman on the Lyonsdale Town Board.

She very much enjoyed reading, playing cards, and her pet dogs.  Fond memories will be cherished of her cooking and catering for family gatherings.  Beverly was also a member of the Lyons Falls Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Besides her husband Raymond Sr., she is survived by her children: Janet (Stephen) White, Cindy (Ronald) Shue, Raymond Jr. (Rae) Poore, Ricky (Gail) Poore, and Tina Poore, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with Rev. Jack Ford officiating.  Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls.  Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 11:00 am until the service.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lewis county Humane Society, P.O. Box #682, Lowville, New York 13367.

Donations of food may be dropped off at the Port Leyden Fire Hall on Thursday from 11:30 am on.
