Utica-Boonville- Carol C. Porter, 89, of Acacia Village, widow of Donald A. Porter, former residents of Post St. Boonville and also Ellenton, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the Masonic Care Community of New York.
A Memorial Service will be on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where visitation hours are also Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the services. Interment services for both Donald A. Porter, who passed away on April 30, 2024 and Carol will follow in Boonville Cemetery, where members of Charles J. Love Post American Legion, Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W. and The Tun Tavern Marine Corps League, will render Military rites in memory of Donald A. Porter. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boonville Fire Department, or to the special Survivors Fund for Firemen injured while fighting the February 17, 2026, Abundant Life Church Fire; please mail to either fund at Boonville Fire Company, P.O. box 164, Boonville, NY 13309.
For many years Mrs. Porter was a first grade teacher at Adirondack Central School, at the Forestport Elementary School. For many years, Mr. Porter taught 5th grade at the Adirondack elementary School, Boonville, before retiring as teacher and principal at the Forestport Elementary School in 1989. Donald was also a long time active member of the Boonville Fire Department, serving as ambulance driver, driving for a total of over 1700 ambulance calls.
