Boonville – John R. Michael, 88, passed away on January 1,2024 at Rome Health.
He was born in Yonkers, New York on January 18, 1935. His family moved to Lewis County where he attended a rural one room school house. John joined the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1962. John married June A. Gorzalkowski in 1980 in Boonville. He was employed at the Boonville Furniture Company and J&C Lumber Company, West Leyden. John and June lived on the East Road for many years and were together for 61 years. He enjoyed hunting fishing, snowmobiling and playing bingo.
John’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all the friends and neighbors who have helped them throughout the years.
Surviving are his wife, June; sons, Donald, John and Wally Michael; a daughter, Tammy Benton; a brother, Raymond Komka and many grandchildren.
