West Leyden - Mark S. Stinebrickner, 67, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 20, 2024 after an extended illness.

He was born in Constableville on January 4, 1957 a son of Joseph and Ruby Yost Stinebrickner. He spent the first 11 years on the family homestead on the Mud Lake Road, before the family moved to their present home on Route 26 in 1968. Mark graduated from Adirondack Central School in 1975, and went to work for J. and C. Lumber Co.  He later was employed at Delta Lumber and Hardware, before his last employment at Baillie Lumber Co. Boonville, as a Sawyer and ReSawyer. Mark retired in 2022. Throughout the years he enjoyed gardening, He could grow a monster size sunflower like no other as well as many other vegetables.  He had a passion for reading and learning about military history, NASCAR and constructing model cars. Years ago he enjoyed snowmobiling and riding his 3-wheeler. Mark was an honorary member of West Leyden Volunteer Fire Department and the West Leyden Fish & Game Schmokers Club.

Surviving are his sisters, Rita (Bob) Higby, Chris Stinebrickner : a brother, Michael Stinebrickner: nine nieces and nephews:  29 great nieces and nephews and good friends, Scott Ernst and Cameron Kaiding. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Joe, and a sister- in- law Debbie Stinebrickner.

Service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 7 p.m. at the Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post St. Boonville. Relatives and friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. prior to the funeral. Spring burial in Prussian Settlement Cemetery, West Leyden. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the West Leyden Ambulance, P.O. Box 205, West Leyden, NY 13489.
