LOWVILLE- Michael J. “Mike” Overton, 63, of Number Four Road, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Lewis County General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his mother, Joanie Davis; his siblings, Wayne (Karen) Overton, Patty Hanno, and Amy (Mark) Marti; nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Deborah; his father Virgil; and a brother-in-law, Donnie Hanno.

Michael was born on March 10, 1961 in Carthage, a son of the late Virgil Overton; and Joan St. Louis Overton Davis and graduated from Lowville Academy with the class of 1979.  Mike drove tractor trailer setting up mobile homes in Texas for 17 years, before returning home in the late 1990’s and working at Lowville Rural Cemetery for a few years.  On September 9, 2006, he married Deborah Yelton in Martinsburg with Lowville Justice, Roger Branagan officiating.  He worked for several local area businesses for many years before working for his brother, Wayne Overton, at Martinsburg Metals/Salvage and Firewood, and also for Robert Stanford Excavating most recently.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Beaches Bridge Cemetery in Watson with his friend Nate Patnode officiating.  A luncheon at the Lowville VFW will immediately follow the graveside service, all are welcome.  Any food donations may be taken directly to the Lowville VFW on Saturday, after 9 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P.O. Box 266, Lowville, NY 13367.  Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
