LOWVILLE- It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Peter D. Kirch, 62, of Number Four Road. He passed away on December 24, 2025 at Lewis County General Hospital.


Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Bethany; three children, Derek N. Kirch; AnnaJane (Eric) Bates; Maryam (Micah) Kelly; three cherished grandchildren; his mother, Frances LaVancha; six siblings, Francine (James) Bush; Eileen (James) Fitzgerald; Holly (Thomas) Farney; Susan Weaver (Companion Mike Matuszczak); Kevin (Marcia) Kirch; Kirk (Diane) Kirch; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Neil H. Kirch.


Peter was born on February 8, 1963 in Utica, NY, a son of Neil H. and Frances Ferrance Kirch and attended Father Leo Memorial School in Croghan and Graduated from Beaver River Central School in the Class of 1981. On September 24, 1988, he married Bethany A. Spencer at the West Martinsburg United Methodist Church. Peter worked for International Union of Operating Engineers Local #158, Cicero, as a crane operator. He had been a crane operator for more than 40 years where he was well respected by his co-workers for being a great crane operator, who was safe, and was a perfectionist in all areas of his work.


Informal calling hours are from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 30, 2025 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville with the funeral following at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held privately in the spring.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Scholarship Fund being set up at Community Bank, Lowville (for hard working local students going into the trades).
