Boonville- Robert P. Platt, 68, of Flint Town Road, passed away at his residence, on Monday, March 30, 2026, after a long illness, while surrounded by the loving care of his wife, Elizabeth and family.

Bob was born in Utica, NY, on March 17, 1958, a son of Walter and Mary Sweeney Platt. He grew up on Mohawk Hill and in the Constableville area and completed his education at Adirondack Central School, Boonville.

On February 18, 1983, Robert was united in marriage with Elizabeth Kenyon, in West Leyden. For a time he was employed for Bailey’s Boonville Mills and also as a dairy farmer at Robert Felshaw Dairy Farm, near Constableville. In 1985, Bob and Elizabeth relocated to Cherry Valley, Otsego Co., where he was employed for Yerdon Bros. Dairy Farm and Hay Trucking Company. In 1992, the couple moved to the Town of Ava, where Bob was employed for many years as a dairy farmer for Ernest and Mark Thornton, in the operation of Ern-Mar Acres Dairy Farm, Boonville. He retired from farming in 2021.

In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, Robert is survived by his children; Melinda Platt, Kristy Platt, Robert “Robby” Platt and fiancée Krystal Hence, Kaylee Platt and fiancée Chase Sterling; grandchildren and his siblings, Michael (Roxy) Platt, Chryl (Kevin) Felshaw, Dawn (Ed) Glasgow and John Platt. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Walter and Mary Platt. 

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no services or calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer society, 100 Lomond Court, Utica, NY 13502, or to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413. His arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
