Port Leyden - Ronald J. Gozalkowski, 55, passed away suddenly at Lewis County Health System on February 26, 2024 from a massive heart attack.
He was born on May 18, 1968 in New Hartford, N.Y. a son of Carl and Lila Moshier Gozalkowski. He grew up in Port Leyden and graduated from South Lewis Central School in the Class of 1988.  Ron worked at his family’s garage, Carl’s Auto in Port Leyden , as a mechanic. He also was employed with Matt Ripp, in the Boat Shop and at Fort Drum in construction.  He enjoyed carpentry and was a finish carpenter and enjoyed auto body work.

Ron had many interests including snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, go cart racing, camping,  NASCAR racing,  history,  and was very artsy, especially in calligraphy. He also enjoyed basketball and baseball.

Surviving are his parents, Carl and Lila Gozalkowski, five siblings, Louise Gozalkowski, Neil Gozalkowski, Ann Dobbs, Melissa and Brian Millick, and Tracy Szewil; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. at the New Covenant Church, Port Leyden.

Ronald’s memorial service will be on Friday March 8, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the New Covenant Church, Port Leyden also with calling hours from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
