Boonville- As the North Country trudges through another winter, the Adirondack Trailblazers are preparing for the upcoming 2018 summer baseball season and Blazer officials are seeking host families.

Each season, approximately thirty college baseball players from all over the country; even some here locally come to Central New York for two months of exciting action on the ball field. Boonville has been fortunate enough to have a team since 2012 and to help keep summer baseball in Boonville; the team needs local families within a 20-30 minute driving distance from the Robert Smith Sports Complex, or locally known as the BYAA Field.

All you have to do as a host family is provide a home and bed for a baseball player. It’s common for host families to have two, three or sometimes four ball player’s stay in their home for the whole summer.

“A host family program is a vital part of the team’s success both on and off the field”, said Bobby Miller, Trailblazers owner. “Having the players become a part of a local family helps these young men have some sense of normalcy in a strange new town”.

If your family is interested in hosting a Blazer for this summer baseball season, visit the Adirondack Trailblazers website for more information.
