18-year-old Lewis County suspect charged with criminally possessing stolen property granted youthful offender status in Jefferson County burglary case

CHAMPION- A Lewis County resident is accused of criminally possessing stolen property, authorities say.

On Wednesday afternoon, New York State Police officials announced the arrest of an 18-year-old Croghan, NY suspect, who was formally charged with one misdemeanor count of criminally possessing stolen property in the fifth-degree.

A name or gender of the suspect was not provided, as State Police said the case is listed under juvenile and/or youthful offender.

According to Troopers, the arrest stems from a burglary complaint filed in December in the town of Champion, Jefferson County.

At press time, authorities said the suspect was issued with an appearance ticket.
