The national average gallon of gas cost just over $3.40 Monday morning, about 40-cents cheaper than last-year at this time, the AAA says.

Meanwhile in New York, our statewide average is $3.70 as of this report. That’s only about 16-cents cheaper than last-year.

“There are now thousands of gas stations selling regular below $3 a gallon and even a few that have dipped below $2,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson on November 2.

“We still need to watch global events for the effect on oil prices, but for now, drivers will benefit from falling prices with every visit to the pump.”

Despite the numerous gas stations with prices below $3 per-gallon across the country, most stations here locally appear to remain well above that mark.

In Lowville, NY, drivers can find prices as low as $3.68, with other prices ranging higher, according to GasBuddy.

Prices in Boonville were observed at $3.79 as of this report.

In the Watertown, NY area, pump prices ranged as low as $3.52, with Syracuse, NY showing similar prices as low as $3.60.

Meanwhile, prices in the Mohawk Valley, including the Rome, NY area, ranged as low as $3.59 and the same for Utica, NY, according to GasBuddy.
