AAA: New York currently not far off from last-year’s average gas price of $4.33

Gas prices have been inching upward locally, with a statewide average hovering just shy of $3.95.

That’s only approximately 40-cents cheaper when compared to last-year’s state average at this time of $4.33. As of this report, the national average is $3.87.

A month ago, the state average was almost 30-cents cheaper at $3.67.

Gas prices are as low as $3.89 in Lowville, according to GasBuddy. In Boonville, we have been aware of prices just north of $4.00.

If you take the drive to Utica, gas prices are as low as $3.89. Meanwhile in Syracuse, prices are slightly cheaper, as low as $3.79.

Up in the Watertown region, prices can be found as low as $3.85.

For this report, the cheapest statewide gas, according to GasBuddy, is $3.16 in Salamanca, NY.
