The start of increasing seasonal demand and higher oil costs are two main factors behind a steady rise lately in gas prices, the AAA says.

As of Tuesday morning, the national average price for a gallon of fuel was $3.22, higher than last-month’s average price of $3.07, but still cheaper than a year ago now, when it was $3.41 on the average.

Here in New York State, the average price as of this report is $3.28, showing basically no change from last-month and less than a year ago now, when it was an average of $3.51.
