Accident on State Route 12 in Trenton results in non-life threatening injuries

TRENTON- A local resident was taken to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries after colliding into a dump truck Wednesday afternoon in Oneida County.

It happened at around 12:45 noontime on State Route 12 in the town of Trenton, according to the Sheriff’s office.

Deputies and other emergency responders were called to the scene of a two car personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies found out that Russell Ritzel, 36, of Boonville, NY was heading south in a GMC Acadia when he collided into the back of a parked NYS DOT Dump truck, which was trailering a traffic attenuator.

Ritzel was evaluated on scene before transport to Wynn Hospital. Emergency officials said his injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.

Ritzel was issued traffic citations as a result of the collision returnable to Trenton Town Court for a later date.

The Sheriff's Office received assisted thanks to North Star Ambulance, and Barneveld Fire Department.
