Meat Canner Ride 2023

LOWVILLE- The annual Meat Grinder Bike Ride is coming up in Lewis County to help kick-off the autumn season.

Aimed for Saturday, September 23 at the Maple Ridge Center (7421 E Rd, Lowville, NY 13367), the Meat Grinder is an annual cycling event that raises funds to bring Mennonite Central Committee's mobile meat canner to Maple Ridge, which typically arrives each early spring.

This year, Meat Grinder Lewis County is partnering with Adirondack Foothills Cycling Club to better “meat” your expectations.

"The Mennonite Meat Canning Committee came to us and asked if we would plan the ride part of it," said Rebecca Pate Johnson, board member for Adirondack Foothills Cycling Club.

"The proceeds are still going towards that (the Meat Canning Committee), we're just kind of helping out to try to boost the ride portion and maybe bring in some more proceeds."

Be sure to listen to our latest on-air coverage with Rebecca Pate Johnson for more details:
