Adirodnack Pop Warner Cheer National Competition 2022

BOONVILLE- For the first time ever!

After winning the regional competition earlier this month in New Jersey, Adirondack Pop Warner and their Junior Peewee Cheerleading Team will be heading to Orlando, FL in December and will compete for the first time nationally.

The village has been buzzing since the announcement blossomed and in order for each cheerleader and staff to attend, the team will have to raise north of $20-grand to cover their expenses.

That's a tall task, but fortunately the community has already responded with tremendous support. "Adirondack Pop Warner Association is non-profit. We don't get funding from the school. This is all funded from the community," said team coach Jamilee Maricle.

"We have a GoFund Me page. We will be putting buckets at local businesses," said Head Coach Toni Lorentz.

In terms of community support, Lake Effect Tech has stepped up by donating 10% of all sales through December 2. In addition, Capri Pizzeria will donate $2 towards Adirondack Pop Warner for ever pizza sold on Friday, November 11, 2022.

Coming up after Thanksgiving, the cheer squad has teamed-up with Boonville's Broadway Baker for a Breakfast Buffet with Santa on Sunday, November 27, with all proceeds to benefit the trip.

The cheer squad will also have a float during Boonville's Christmas Parade.

As of this report, the team's GoFund Me page had collected just over $2,100.

Stay tuned, we'll share more details as the competition nears. Be sure to listen to our latest on-air segment with Toni Lorentz and Jamilee Maricle:
