Aggravated harassment charge filed against Mohawk Valley area resident in Lewis County

LEYDEN- A resident from the Mohawk Valley area is faced with a harassment charge in Southern Lewis County.

David J. Sloan, 47, of New York Mills, NY was arrested and charged on Sunday afternoon by the New York State Police (Lowville) for one misdemeanor count of aggravated harassment in the second-degree (communicate threat via phone, computer and/or mail).

Troopers said this arrest stems from a harassment complaint Sunday afternoon in the town of Leyden.

At press time, police said that an investigation was still pending. Meanwhile, Sloan was released and there were no further details provided.
