WASHINGTON, D.C. – Key agriculture oriented measures were included with the latest bill passed in the U.S. Capitol to keep the Federal Government funded through mid-March.
$10 billion was included in emergency aid to agriculture producers and nearly $21 billion to assist farmers dealing with natural disasters.
Rod Bain, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, says the gross revenue for rural crop farmers for this year once again has fallen below the cost of production.
Also included with the latest federal funding continuing resolution was a second one-year extension of the 2018 Farm Bill.
