ONEIDA COUNTY- If you’re a frequent traveler in the Remsen and Forestport area, specifically around Kayuta Lake, this is a notice to pay attention to.
According to the New York State DOT Office, the O’Brien Road bridge, which crosses a portion of Kayuta Lake, will shut-down for over a month.
Officials say the closure results because of some needed construction work.
There is a marked detour, which will guide drivers from Lake Julia Road to Bardwell Mills Road, then to Dayton Road over to Route 12 (northbound), then Route 28 (northbound) to O’Brien Road.
Crews hope to finish the project in-time for the kick-off of summer.
