
With over 55 million Americans expected to travel at-least 50-miles for Thanksgiving, drivers can expect to encounter declining gas prices at the pump, the AAA says.
As of this report Tuesday, the national average for a gallon of gas cost just under $3.30, while New York’s average was $3.60. Last-year around Thanksgiving, drivers were paying a national average just over $3.65, and New Yorkers were paying nearly $4.00.


“Ten states now have sub $3 a gallon averages, and more will join soon,” said AAA spokesperson Andrew Gross.
Since the price peak for 2023, the national average has either fallen or remained flat for 60 straight days, the AAA says.
For this report in the local area, drivers can find pump prices as low as $3.62 in the Lowville, NY area, according to GasBuddy. In Boonville, NY, the same source suggests gas prices that are as low as $3.69.
In Watertown, NY, drivers can find prices as low as $3.29, with numerous other prices that range upwards of $3.59.
Down towards the city of Syracuse, NY region, pump prices range as low as $3.39 and up to $3.89.
Finally in the Mohawk Valley area, gas prices range as low as $3.49 in Utica, NY and $3.51 in Rome, NY.
