Amidst new guidelines and procedures at Enchanted Forest Water Safari, park officials publish policies for people with food allergies

OLD FORGE- Summer is just about here and the Enchanted Forest Water Safari is aimed to open up this week under a new ownership.

As reported previously this spring, a few new tweaks and adjustments have been made by IAM, the group that now owns the renowned North Country attraction, that park goers will notice.

The first and most notable alteration involves new security measures/searches at the gates, where all guests will go through a screening process for added safety upon entrance.

If you were a visitor who frequently brought in your own lunch, snacks and beverages, beware that the next significant modification revolves around coolers. Per these new measures, guests are no longer allowed to bring with them any outside food and beverages.

Exceptions include any season pass holder, where they are permitted one cooler (up to 60-quarts) per-family.

To be clear, park officials stress that no alcoholic beverages are allowed and folks are not to bring any glass containers.

Guests may bring in an empty water bottle and fill it with water, for free, inside the park at the various Coca-Cola refillable soda stations.

Also for people with food allergies and other food restrictions, the park will allow such individuals to bring with them up to two sealable sandwich bags (7x8 inches) and one snack to accommodate their visit (such as a piece of fruit or small snack that fits into a sandwich bag).

One small soft-sided cooler may be brought in to carry these items. Upon arrival, guests are encouraged to see a team member at any screening area to receive approval.

With that said, park officials told us that there will be alternate food options for sale on the premises for anyone who may have restrictions or allergies.

Picnic areas are available at Calypso's Cove for Guests to enjoy their food safely, or they are welcome to tailgate from their vehicles, park officials clarified.

Guests may also enter and exit on the same day by receiving a stamp to return.

Guests with infants who need to bring breastmilk or formula are permitted to bring in one small soft-sided cooler (NO GLASS CONTAINERS).
