TURIN- The proposed measure to increase the schedule of snowmobile registration fees in New York has passed in the Assembly, but still awaits further action in the Senate's Committee.

As summer approaches fall, snowmobile enthusiasts are encouraging riders both here and home and those who come from afar to start considering memberships at local clubs.

If this proposed measure is signed into law, registration fees for both club and non-club members will increase, but only to keep up with the cost of grooming equipment and other trail necessities.

Club members would pay $65 with the increase, while non-club members would pay $135.

"You only really need to join one club to enjoy that discount, but we do recommend that people join more than one club where they ride," said Turin Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club President, Chris Skipper.
