ORISKANY- A Mohawk Valley man is faced with a pair of felony accusations in the wake of an alleged assault against two Correctional Officers at the Oneida County Jail, authorities say.

Francisco J. Esmurria II, 27, an inmate of the Oneida County Correctional Facility and originally from Utica, NY, is officially charged with felony counts of assault in the second-degree and attempted assault in the second-degree.

Officials say these charges stem from a reported incident on August 11, involving a pair of Correctional Officers.

Details specifying the incident were not provided by authorities.

Esmurria II was awaiting his arraignment, according to what the Sheriff’s Office said at press time.
