LOWVILLE- Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R, C-Black River) supported the third-annual Safety Day for the Lewis County Highway Department on May 7.
Safety Day is a day of training and networking where employees of Lewis County Highway Departments can take part in field-specific training, annual state training and even partake in conversations about trade-specific barriers and solutions all in one day.
The event was attended by the trusted vendors of the Lewis County Highway Department who demonstrated their products to interested community members.
“The importance of Safety Day should not go unrecognized. Community members can attend this event and learn work zone safety, welding safety and electrical safety along with many other safety skills imperative to any trade or construction profession,” the Assemblyman said.
“I would like to commend the Lewis County Highway Department and their commitment to the people of Lewis County for throwing this event. They are a prime example of why I will always support increased CHIPS funding for our local roads, bridges and highways.”
