At-least two dogs perished in animal sanctuary fire just north of Talcottville, officials say

LEWIS COUNTY- At-least two dogs have perished in the wake of a fire Monday morning in Southern Lewis County.

Fire departments were called out some time around 8:00 a.m. to 2539 East Road (just north of Talcottville, NY).

Details have yet to emerge, but emergency responders told us that the structure included some sort of animal sanctuary.

We do have confirmation from folks who work at the site that most animals made it out alive and are currently being housed in a temporary shelter.

Unfortunately, we also have word that there were at-least two dogs that perished in the fire. There were no human injuries from the blaze, officials told us.
