ONEIDA COUNTY- After losing their firehouse last winter from a roof collapse, Barneveld Fire Department has made significant progress in their efforts to rebuild a brand-new one.
According to a statement released by the fire department on social media, contractors have recently erected the first steel beams.
The foundation work was finished earlier in the month and the framework phase commenced last Thursday.
Despite having to adjust after losing the fire-hall last winter from a tremendous amount of snow weighing on the roof, Barneveld Fire Department has kept moving along and managed to tackle a call volume increase of over 21% in 2025.
Last winter, there were several structure collapses that were a direct result of tremendous snow accumulations across the Central and Northern New York regions.
