BRANTINGHAM- Some grant funding for the Black River Valley ATV Club will allow them to improve their off-road trail signage.
Based in Brantingham, NY, the club utilized $5,000 in grant funding from the Right Rider Access Fund Program.
The improvements will be established on off-road trails in Lewis County’s re-forestation area, otherwise known as the commons. Other off-road trails will have signage improved, the club said.
According to officials, proper signage will ensure that riders stay on designated trails and can accurately report emergencies to 911.
Additionally, riders will be able to coordinate their ATV maps and or GPS devices with the signage.
This grant award is the second in two-years for Black River Valley Four Wheeler Club, for a total of $11,000.
According to club officials, another grant will be sought after to pursue funding for training, so the club can feature certified OHV instructors, and then instruct participants when taking an Off Highway Vehicle safety course.
