BOONVILLE- Several emergency responders were on the scene of a structure fire overnight at Baillie Lumber Co.
Details still remain somewhat limited as of this report, however; we have confirmation that Boonville Fire Department was the primary responder to a structure fire at 189 West Street.
Fire alarms sounded shortly after 9:00 p.m. Members from Constableville and Remsen provided mutual aid.
Boonville Ambulance was placed on standby, while the Boonville Police Department assisted.
As of this update, we have no official details on how the fire started. However, Fire Chief Dave Pritchard Jr. tells us the flames sparked near one of the bandsaws and burned that part of the structure.
Smoke and water damage was reported throughout, but no injuries were reported, Chief Pritchard Jr. emphasized.
Concluding his remarks, the Fire Chief said it is going to be very difficult to determine an exact cause of the fire.
The Municipal Commission also responded to help cut the power at the facility.
