Boonville Police charge alleged pumpkin thief

BOONVILLE- The village police department has arrested a pumpkin thief after a business owner filed a complaint earlier this week.

Boonville Police said they received a criminal complaint Thursday morning regarding an incident that occurred at 102 Railroad Avenue the night prior.

According to a subsequent police investigation, Hayden C. Buckingham, 23, of Boonville, NY was formally charged with one misdemeanor count each of criminal mischief in the fourth-degree and petit larceny, along with another violation of disorderly conduct.

Boonville Police is alleging that Buckingham took a pair of pumpkins from the property and damaged them before leaving them in the roadway.

Police say this created a roadway hazard.

Buckingham was processed and released with appearance tickets. All charges are returnable to Boonville Town Court at a later date.
