BOONVILLE- Lock your vehicles and secure any valuables. That's what the Boonville Village Police Department is warning residents amidst a recent string of numerous thefts over the past week.
"Anyone who may have cameras on the outside of their homes or businesses please check your systems for images of any suspicious individuals or groups that may have been recorded during the overnight hours," Officer in Charge Fred Robenski said in a released statement.
Specifically, authorities say there have been suspects going through and taking cash from purses and wallets that have been left inside vehicles.
Even more concerning, police warn that these suspects have been recording all credit and/or debit card information and then placing the cards back as if they were never touched, meaning victims may not be aware their personal information has been compromised.
Boonville Police warns residents to lock their doors and ensure all valuables are secured.
Anyone who has witnessed suspicious activity in their neighborhood should monitor their accounts for any alarming or fraudulent purchases.
Those who may have captured footage or images of suspicious activity are asked to forward such documentation to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
