UPDATE: Victim in fatal fire near Taberg identified, Sheriff’s Office confirms

ONEIDA COUNTY- The victim, who perished in a fire last Thursday afternoon near Taberg, NY, has been identified.

Sheriff’s Office investigators say the body of Corey M. Michik, 54, was discovered while emergency responders combed through what was left of a blaze that destroyed a single story home on Mill Road, town of Annsville.

Initially, authorities said they were still investigating to determine what may have caused this fire.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted on the scene by the NY State Police, NY State Fire, Taberg Fire Department, McConnellsville Fire Department, North Bay Fire Department, Vienna Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance.
