BOONVILLE- A budget just north of $1.7 million was approved Tuesday during the monthly meeting for the village of Boonville, NY.

This is according to the Mayor, Judith Dellerba. She said there is a 2% tax increase and another motion that was approved for a 5% increase for the village sewer rates.

In addition, the board of trustees also granted permission for a new farmer’s market, which has been organized and sponsored thanks to a handful of community business owners.

It would take place on Fridays from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the upper portion of Erwin Park and would and begin sometime around the middle of June.

There would be dates where the new farmer’s market would coincide with Boonville Elementary PTA and their food truck nights. Details on that specifically are expected to develop.

This new market is separate from the one associated with the Boonville Chamber, which typically takes place on Thursdays in Erwin Park.

We have reached out to officials heading this new market and we anticipate another update from them soon.
