ONEIDA COUNTY- A camper trailer was destroyed Thursday night in Northern Oneida County and emergency officials are pointing blame towards an overheated wood stove.
It happened shortly after 9:00 p.m. at 9210 Hawkinsville Road, located in the hamlet of Hawkinsville, NY, according to Boonville Fire Chief Dave Pritchard Jr.
There were no injuries reported, emergency responders confirmed.
Chief Pritchard Jr. told us there was an outdoor woodstove that overheated. Due to its very close proximity to the camper trailer, both wind velocity and direction that evening were contributing factors to sparking the fire.
There were no further details provided at press time.
