Carthage Man Accused of D.W.I. in the Town of Champion

TOWN OF CHAMPION-A 41 year old Carthage man was arrested for D.W.I. Tuesday afternoon following vehicle stop in Jefferson County. New York State Police from the Carthage Barracks charged William P. Burke with one count each of Driving While Intoxicated-First Offense and Operating a Motor Vehicle with .08 of 1 percent or more of Alcohol in blood-First Offense; both Class U misdemeanors. Burke was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charges in the Town of Champion Court at a later date.
