CARTHAGE POLICE: Local resident accused of petit larceny

CARTHAGE- A local North Country resident is accused of petit larceny in Jefferson County, authorities say.

Brandy L. Winfrey, 60, of Carthage, NY is formally charged by the Village of Carthage Police Department for one misdemeanor count of petit larceny.

According to Chief of Police John J. Poggi III, Winfrey allegedly took a package, valued just over $32, from a State Street establishment.

At press time, authorities said that Winfrey was issued with an appearance ticket and is due to address the charge in Jefferson County CAP Court at a later date.

There were no further details provided.
