
NEWPORT- A collision Wednesday morning in Herkimer County has resulted in both minor and serious injuries.
Emergency responders were dispatched sometime around 8:30 a.m. to the scene of a collision between two vehicles on Honey Hill Road, town of Newport.
According to officials from the New York State Police, Michael B. Adu-Poku, 41, of Newport, NY was heading west and crossed the center line, thus resulting in a collision with an oncoming car, reportedly riven by Eric J. Newman, of Poland, NY.
Investigators say that Newman was taken via Mercy Flight Helicopter to SUNY Upstate Medical Center with serious, yet non-life threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, minor injuries were reported for Adu-Poku. He was issued citations for failing to keep right and unsafe lane change.
