COPENHAGEN- It was only a few weeks ago when Copenhagen Fire Department was given the ultimatum to either turn in all of their assets to the village or dissolve.
In the wake of their latest meeting Thursday, the department is trying to lay out a path forward.
According to the latest updates from WWNY-TV, fire department members chose to have their lawyer send a letter to the village attorney, with requests for a sit-down meeting to help figure out the issues at large.
It’s reported that several members are skeptical about turning over the department’s assets, citing it could prevent them from going out on calls.
Chief T.J. Williams has reportedly proposed to give the village their general accounts for a year, while their bookkeeping tangles are sorted out.
