Death near Lowville prompts criminal investigation

LOWVILLE- The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office has reportedly launched a criminal investigation, following a death that occurred just outside of Lowville, NY earlier this month.

We reached out to Sheriff Mike Carpinelli last evening and he could not comment regarding any specifics in the case, however; he also told the press that there is no threat against the general public.

According to the few details that have surfaced thus far, the death was reported during the weekend of Saturday, January 6 at the Ridge View Lodge, located on State Route 12 just north of downtown.

For now, it’s reported this investigation is in partnership with other agencies.

The Sheriff said more information will be released when appropriate.
