Denmark Home Destroyed by Fire

TOWN OF DENMARK-Fire destroyed a single-family home in the Town of Denmark Friday evening. The Lewis County Fire Coordinators office reported said that a passerby reported a structure fire at 3741 Roberts Road at 6:22PM. Upon arrival, West Carthage Volunteer firefighters found the structure to be fully involved. They requested mutual aid from several Lewis and Jefferson County fire departments. The home, owned by Sara Sullivan was declared to be a total loss and the decision was made to totally take down the structure. The Lewis County Highway Department assisted with a track hoe. The home was insured, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries. Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputies, National Grid, and the Lewis County Cause and Origin team also assisted at the scene.
