DEVELOPING: Poland Joint Fire District removes Poland Fire Company from fire suppression in community

HERKIMER COUNTY- We are expecting more details to develop on this, but the Poland Fire Company shuttered overnight at midnight.

According to a statement released by the Poland Joint Fire District Community Page on Facebook: “The Poland Joint Fire District just decided to remove the Poland Fire Company from fire suppression for our community. This puts every community member at serious risk. Contact the Poland Joint Fire District or voice your concern on this page for the blatant lack of concern for public safety shown by the district.”

Again, we are anticipating more information on this story, but the way things stand for now, this means neighboring fire departments will have to pick up the slack, including Barneveld and Newport.
