CLINTON COUNTY- North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21) received a rather unpleasant welcome during a public appearance this week in her district, as such an emergence seems to have been a rarity as of late.
Her visit to Plattsburgh, NY on Monday was to help commemorate a special ceremony, where officials renamed the Clinton County Government Center after the late John Zurlo.
When Stefanik was introduced to the podium to give remarks, a few faint cheers were loudly overwhelmed with boo's and insults.
Several of these protesters were holding signs, showing disgust with Stefanik and her support of various controversial policies from the President's office, including the 'Big, Beautiful Bill' Act and others.
There are numerous sources to confirm that these people in disgust with Stefanik showed up to express their frustrations.
At first, Stefanik could barely speak amid the chorus of heckling from the crowd.
After walking off the stage initially, she did return and then expressed her distaste with WPTZ. "Today's event was about honoring John Zurlo and it is a disgusting disgrace that this is what the far-left does," Stefanik said.
In addition to the 'Big, Beautiful Bill Act,' Stefanik has supported a list of other Trump initiatives this time around, including federal funding cuts to public broadcasting (think PBS and NPR) among other actions, too.
Since returning to Congress last winter, we did not hear back from her office for our on-air segment requests.
