BOONVILLE- A brief pursuit late Thursday afternoon resulted in charges filed against a local resident from Oneida County.

It was shortly before 5:30 p.m. when the Boonville Village Police tried stopping a northbound vehicle on State Route 12 for apparent traffic law violations.

However, Boonville Police officials allege that the driver, identified as Michael W. Roberts, 54, of Remsen, NY refused to stop.

A brief pursuit followed for about a mile through the village, where Roberts pulled into a business on Academy Street, where he was taken into custody and charged with operating on a suspended license, along with numerous other unspecified traffic violations.

All charges are returnable to Boonville Town Court at a later date.
