Driver found unconscious charged with felony DWI, several traffic violations, Sheriff's Office says

TRENTON- A local resident is faced with a felony DWI charge and other traffic violations after they were found unconscious, while behind the wheel, in Oneida County.

It was sometime around 2:00 a.m. Saturday when 9-1-1 dispatch received a report of a vehicle that was stopped right in the middle of State Street in the town of Trenton.

Initial reports suggested the driver was unconscious.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the driver has been identified as Michael D. Stanczyk, 61, of Cold Brook, NY.

Investigation resulted in a DWI arrest. Stanczyk is formally charged with felony DWI and other unspecified traffic violations.

At press time, police said that Stanczyk was taken in for processing and was held at the county jail, pending an arraignment in CAP Court.

Police did not specify or indicate a BAC level for Stanczyk.
